Gladys Gonzalez
Gladys GonzalezExecutive Director
Gladys Gonzalez has been with Catholic Charities for almost five years, serving in various capacities at multiple sites to advance the mission, increase capacity and sustainability, and has managed over 45 programs providing relief to those most vulnerable in our community. Currently, Gladys is the Executive Director at St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home responsible for providing a safe and loving refuge for children in crisis with the goal of breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect in children. In addition, Gladys was previously Vice President of Programs where she developed, implemented, and maintained operations as the organization established a new business model. As Executive Director at Guadalupe Community Center, Gladys was instrumental in launching new programs to address emergency services, education, and self-sufficiency initiatives ensuring compliance with federal grants and local funding. Prior to Catholic Charities, she held roles as a Talent Acquisition Manager and Operations Director for Career Transitions, an executive coaching organization. She began her career at USAA where she worked for 19 years with her last role working in the Office of CEO Support. Gladys has a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business from the University of the Incarnate Word. Gladys has a passion for serving having done so since childhood. She has served in various leadership roles in the community including involvement in ACTS Retreats.
Rey Acosta
Rey AcostaVice President of Programs
Rey is responsible for direct implementation of the services and supports provided to children. This includes tracking and maintaining the goals, objectives, and outcomes related to the Global Intervention Plan for each child care and program operation, as well as supervision of care staff, compliance with procedures, and quality assurance. Rey began his career with St. PJ’s in 2004 as direct care staff and team leader. His continued commitment and progressive responsibilities have provided opportunities for him to advance to Associate Residential Program Supervisor, Associate Director of Recruitment and Training, and Human Resources Manager.
Janina Guajardo

Janina is a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker and Licensed Child-Care Administrator. As an employee of St. PJ’s for over 14 years, Janina has developed an awareness, understanding and appreciation of the needs and challenges faced by children in care. She is dedicated to the safety and well-being of the children served, and has a proven track record of not only maintaining service standards, but also improving them. Janina demonstrates a hands on leadership approach and is committed to providing the highest quality of care and service delivery. Janina is a mother of three, wife and child advocate.
Jamie Moody
Jamie MoodyInternational Foster Care Program Director
Jamie Moody is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator. She has worked in the service of at risk youth and their families or child welfare for 20 years and has spent nine years at St. PJ’s.

Jessica Keith-Valdez
Jessica Keith-ValdezDomestic Program Director
Jessica Keith Valdez is currently the program director for the domestic emergency shelter at St. Peter St. Joseph Children’s home. Jessica is originally from San Antonio, Texas. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Spanish from Texas Tech University and her Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.  Jessica is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.

Jessica has a long history working in both the non-profit and educational sectors. Jessica has taught coursework at several colleges, has worked as a caseworker for Children’s Protective Services, and has worked for agencies similar to St. PJs.

Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, cooking, baking, and completing DIY projects.
